Monday, February 11, 2008

The murder trial involving Kalilo Conteh, who was accused of murdering one Fatoumata Camara, resumed on Wednesday at the Bundung Magistrates' Court presided over by Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara.

When the case was called, Magistrate Sillah-Camara told the court that the case cannot continue to drag before the court without the accused given a legal representation .

She told the court that she will order the assistant registrar to write to the master of the high court to provide Kalilo Conteh with a legal representative as his former counsel, Marry Samba has never appeared in court for the accused to take his plea.

According to the facts before the court, on 22 April 2007 at Sukuta Nema in the Kombo North of the Western Region, Kalilo Conteh did murder the late Fatoumata Camara by hitting her with a pestle thus leading to her death.

The case was then adjourned to Wednesday 13 February 2008 to enable the accused person acquire a legal representative.
