The runners up, Bundung Cobblers, also walked away with a handsome cash prize of D7,000, as the record 46-team tournament, that was staged to mark the ruling party's victory celebration in the area wrapped up in grand style.

TC FC also earned themselves a cash prize D2,000 and 30 T-shirts after being named the most discipline team.

There were also other lucrative prizes, with the APRC Bundung Borehole Bantaba ward bagging D10,000 for their unflinching efforts in ensuring that the APRC conquered Serrekunda Central.

Presenting the prizes, secretary of state Macdouall-Gaye urged the people of the area to make good use of the money and work together and boost their sports and medium enterprises.

She also congratulated the winners, Mikala FC, for their victory and hailed Bundung Cobblers for accepting the defeat.

Saturday's mouth-watering ceremony was graced by scores of dignitaries and sports enthusiasts, including Marie-Saine Firdaus, Attorney General and secretary of state for Justice and Ansumana Jammeh, director of the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital.

Mikala FC prevailed 4-2 winners over Bundung in a post-match spot-kick after a heated 1-1 draw in regulation. Buba Trawalley gave Bundung Cobblers an early lead with a fascinating brace. His loan goal advantage was cancelled out when Mikala's Sutay Sowe converted a spot-kick to level the scores.
