One Omar Simaga, a marabout, was recently paraded before the Bundung magistrate court, presided over by senior magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara, charge with obtaining D212,000 from one Musa Jallow and Mariama Janneh, by false pretence.

According to the particular of the offense, Omar Simaga, from the month of December 2006 and sometime in 2007, at Willingara in the Kombo North Western Region, did obtained the sum of D77,000 and 5000 US Dollar, equivalent to D135,000 from Musa Jallow and Mariama Janneh, respectively. The accused was alleged to have done so under the pretext that he would work for them within 7 days, so that one Mr. Samuel Hesekoi Bevons would come face to face with his "devile's wife."

When the charge sheet was read to him, Omar Simaga pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

He was then granted bail in the sum of 150,000 with one Gambian surety who must deposit a title deed within the Greater Banjul Area. His guarantor would also swear to an affidavit of mean and deposit his ID Card .
