Jole Rider distributes 665 bicyclesMonday, October 29, 2007
Jole Rider Foundation, a charitable organisation in the United Kingdom, on Thursday disbursed about 665 bicycles to six schools in the Western Region, at a presentation ceremony held at Gunjur Corperative Grand.
Governor Badjie informed the ceremony that proposals are in the pipeline for Jole Rider Foundation to be allocated a site, where they can build their Head Office in The Gambia.
Kebba K Barrow, representative of Jole Rider Foundation, said the presentation brought the total of distributed bicycles to 1,565 since the organisation was registered as a charitable organisation in The Gambia on 25 April 2006 . He thanked the Department of State for Education for their support and then assured the beneficiaries of his organisation's continuous support. He finally urged them to make good use of the bicycles.
Other speaker's at the ceremony included Borry Colley, NAM for Foni Jarrol, Bakary Badjie, representative of the Gambia Teachers Union and Education For All in Western Region, among others.
