Face lift at Jambanjelly SchoolTuesday, November 20, 2007 A new three-classroom block at Jambanjelly Basic Cycle School was on Tuesday inaugurated at Jambanjelly Village in Kombo South.
The school project -suppoted by Roelef Etchen College in the Netherlands - also saw the construction of a library, staff room, an office, and toilets.
Mr Badjie said this development runs to complement government's efforts in bringing quality and relevant education to the doorsteps of every Gambian.
Madi Jatta, who deputised for the secretary of state for Basic and Secondary Education, said the new school will contribute to efforts geared towards building a literate society. Mr Jatta assured the beneficiaries that his department will not relent in ensuring affordable education for all Gambian students.
Christine Bruinsma, a one-time deputy initiator of the project, lauded Roelef College for funding the project and their resolve to continue investing in education.
Cherno Bojang, representative of the chief of Kombo South, also thanked the donors for the project.
Oumie Jallow, head girl of Jambanjelly Basic Cycle School, read the vote of thanks, while Dembo Kinteh, coordinator of CCF in Sanyang Village, chaired the ceremony.
