Governor Touray salutes Jammeh for Ramadan giftThursday, September 27, 2007 Alhagie Ganyi Touray, Governor of Central River Region has commended President Yahya Jammeh for his Ramadan gift of sugar in the holy month of Ramadan. Speaking to the Daily Observer at his Janjangbureh Office, Governor Touray, on behalf of the people of the region underscored the significance of the gift which, he said, is a clear testimony of President Jammeh's benevolence and philanthropic gesture. Turning to the significance of Ramadan, Governor Touray, said "whatever assistance you give to your fellow Muslim, Allah will reward you for the good deeds. This gift which is aimed at assisting the poor and needy manifests President Jammeh's love and interest in the welfare of Gambians, irrespective of tribe or political affiliations".
