Thursday, January 03, 2008
The chief of Janjangbureh has informed the Daily Observer of a bumper harvest yielded at President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh's rice fields in Janjangbureh, Central River.

Speaking in an interview with this reporter at his residence in Janjangbureh, Chief Bakary Jam Jawo described the November harvest as a major achievement and a plus to the country's efforts to attain food self-sufficiency.

He commended Ganyie Touray, governor of Central River Region and Seyfo Momodou Lamin Baldeh of Lower Fulladou and his people for the efforts rendered during the harvesting period.

Chief Jawo also used the opportunity to congratulate the president on the birth of his newborn, Muhammad Yahya Jammeh and for his breakthrough in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, asthma, and hypertension, among others.

For his part, Ebrima Janko Foon, APRC selected candidate for the upcoming local government elections, lauded the support given to them by Governor Touray and Momodou Lamin Baldeh, chief of Lower Fulladou during the harvesting period.

He then called on the youths and women of the island to rally behind President Jammeh and the APRC party for more development.
