Member's of the civil society organisation and the media on Thursday concluded a three day forum on  HHIV/AIDS prevention, organized by the association of non-governmental organisation at a ceremony held at it's resource centre in Kanifing.

The UNAIDS backed programme focuses on presentations that included universal access to treatment, care, support and prevention on the fight against HHIV/AIDS virus.  Nuha Ceesay, the UNAIDS country officer in Banjul who also doubles as resource person at the workshop, said UNAIDS has been working with NAS in the fight against HHIV/AIDS but has recently opened it's office doors in the country task with the mandate to facilitate  the national response towards the epidemic.

According to him, the war against the virus has called for the need to scale up efforts by everybody in the battle against the deadly virus.  He said  the participation of the civil society among other's is fundamental in the battle against the disease.

Ousman Yarbo, director of Tango, said his organisation as a civil society one deems it fitting to organise such a forum to generate ways in order to improve "on our performance at the grass root level".

He urged the participants to share the knowledge gained from the workshop with others.  He also urged UNAIDS to contiune to support such programmes and activities and he thanked government for providing the enabling environment for civil society participation in the quest for national development.   Alhagie Cham, Tango's programme officer chaired the programme.
