One Abdoulie Mboge was on Wednesday arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates Court charged with stealing and assault.

Abdoulie Mboge is said to have attempted to stab one Doudou Jobe in August 2008. He is also accused of stealing a silver chair valued at D3820 from the same person. Giving his testimony, prosecution witness, Ebou Njie, told the court that on 8th August 2008, he found the accused on top of Doudou Jobe attempting to stab him with a bottle.

He added that after separating them, Dudou Jobe went and reported the matter to his parents. After he had concluded his testimony, the police prosecutor, Inspector Fadera applied to close his case. The case was adjourned to 4th February 2009 for the accused to open his defence.
