Police investigate Kanilai fatal accident

The death of Sam Jones, an employee of the National Water and Electricity Company (Nawec), who reportedly died of electrocution in Kanilai has compelled the police to launch an investigation into the young man's death.

Already the office of the Inspector General of Police has issued a press release in which it states that it is investigating the issue and wants the cooperation of the genral public.  Below we reproduce the full text of the press release:
The Office of the Inspector-General of Police wishes to inform the general public that on Saturday, 3rd November 2007, at about 09:00 hrs am, the police at Kalagi Police Station, Sibanor Division, Western Region received a telephone call from Kanali that one Sam Jones, a NAWEC  employee died as a result of electric shock while fixing a cable wire.

The police visited the scene and investigations are ongoing. The Office of the Inspector-General of Police, therefore, solicits the cooperation of the general public in the investigation.
