The Red Cross Link at the Latrikunda Upper Basic School has been named the school-based Red Cross Link of The Year within the Kanifing Municipal Council, Lamin Dibba, Branch Officer at the Kanifing Municipality Red Cross has told the Daily Observer.

The prestigious award for Latrikunda Upper Basic came just a few months after the renowned school, which is headed by Mrs Mary A. Allen, was patted on the back for its active participation in the Science and Technology Week Celebrations held from November 26 to November 30, 2007.

Dibba said the criteria for awarding the award include active participation for the good of humanity, contribution to the Kanifing Municipality Link, as well as internal activities as a link.

He said the participation and contribution of Latrikunda Upper Basic School Red Cross Link in the past year has been magnificent. While congratulating the link for the award, Dibba also heaped praises on the school's administration for its magnanimity in promoting both academic and extra-curricular activities in the school.
