Impressive Samger maintain lead

Thursday, March 06, 2008
The GFA First Division newcomers, Samger, continued their impressive run of form in the league season with another vital victory. Lamin Samarteh's 27th minute brace helped the Serre Kunda East side beat league defending champions Real de Banjul 1-0 on Sunday, to maintain their position at the top of the league table.

The hard-fought win saw Samger fetched nine points in three games and in effect made them the only team so far to win their first three fixtures.

At the time of going to press, Gamtel were locking horns with Interior at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium, while Sait Matty and Sea View were battling at the Serre Kunda East Mini-stadium.
