Two goals from Real De Banjul's Babucarr Badjan, one in each half, earned  Knock Out Cup Champions Tigers of Kotu Quarry their first ever Super Cup championship against League Cup winners, Kanifing United, at Serrekunda West on Saturday.

The game, which was the first assignment of Coach Sang Ndong-led interim sports committee, saw hundreds of football fans standing in all four corners of the SK West Mini Stadium.

Babucarr Badjan,the subsequent hero of the day, squandered a golden chance just ten minutes into the game when he fired blank a shot from strike partner Saikou Gibba. As if all was not lost, Badjan made amends few minutes later by blasting a right-footed shot from the corner to register his first goal in 15th minute. The Tigers frenzied fans went wild by invading the pitch and jubilating their lead.

Kanifing United, who were always Tigers threat as they defeated them in all previous encounters in the past years, were no match to their opponents this time around as their creativity and goal chances were nullified at every move they make by defenders

Timothy Colley, Baboucar Manga, Alagie Jatta and abdou Ceesay thus adding frustration on the faces of strikers Wadan Chune, Azziz Mendy and James Mballo. Kanifing did all they could to change the tide by introducing Baba Conteh, Muhamad Tunkara, Ali Ceesay, Hali Njie for Ansumana Sanneh, Sulayman Camara, Sheriff Jobe and Denilson Dafaris but to no avail.

Badjan brought more woes to the Kanifing United side by dribbling pass all his markers and taking a low shot midway into the game for his second thus ushering his team's chance for their first ever Super Cup.

Kanifing United struggled to pull one back to console themselves but the chanting and shouting from the Tigers fans only rendered them powerless and  made them resign to fate by succumbing to their opponents.

Kanifing United went home with four thousand dalasis  as runners up while Tigers proudly lifted the coveted giant trophy plus seven thousand dalasi as champions.

Saturday's final was graced by  the GFA President, Seedy Kinteh, who took the kick-off, community leaders among other distinguished  persons.
