Biko prevail in Bakau derby clash

africa » gambia » serrekunda
Monday, March 10, 2008
Steve Biko grasped their first win in three games after a 1-0 victory over neighbours Sait Matty on Saturday at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

Alasan Camara's 59th minute strike helped Biko to carry the whole three points, but the embattled side were grateful for some poor finishings from the Africell sponsored side.

Sait Matty created numerous scoring chances in the first interval but were just too playful in front goal mouth.

The second interval saw a more aggressive Biko side and their price paid off in the 59th minute when Alasan Camara's strike beat the former U-17 and Biko keeper, Abdoulie Njie, to break the deadlock.

Sait Matty fought back and striker Omar Bojang and versatile Domingo were all closed  to an equaliser but they were just too anxious direct their target.
