Magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates' Court on Tuesday convicted and ordered one Ousman Trawally, a Guinean, to do a forty hours mandatory community service at Tujereng Police station. Mr Ousman Trawally was found guilty by the court for stealing a nokia mobile phone valued D2500 from one Mariama Jallow in Tanji Village, Kombo South.

In his mitigation, Mr Trawally begged the court for mercy.

Handing down his verdit, presiding Magistrate Njie told him that he was "lucky" that he was with speaking disabilities " but do not use that as an advantage". Magistrate Njie urged Mr Trawally to learn a skill for survival.

He then went on to slam a forty hours mandatory community service on the young Guinean and also ordered that the recovered mobile be returned to the owner.
