APRC supporters in Bakau have assured victory to The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, Babili Mansa during a mass political rally held at Bakau Bantaba. The meeting was organised by the Bakau APRC executive members.
Speaking at the rally, Jobou Jagne, a former National Assembly Member for Serekunda Central called on the people of Bakau to unite and rally behind President Jammeh and his government for development, saying indifference cannot bring any meaningful progress.
Ousaman Rambo Jatta also advised his people to desist from hatred and dishonesty, saying that it will not move the country to anywhere.
He said President Jammeh has brought lot of development to the people of Bakau, making reference to the recent fencing of the Women garden and thousand bags of fertilize he donated to them as an example.
Mr Jatta said that was a clear manifestation of President Jammeh’s commitment and heart for the development of Bakau and the entire country. “I am sure that you the people of Bakau will not disappoint me. He has done a lot for you and if you disappoint him, Allah will disappoint you too. President Jammeh will surely win this election because the crowd that welcomes him at Essau and Farafenni is enough testimony that Gambian people are behind him and his Government.”
He stated that Bakau was one of the best towns in the past but has now become back warded due to opposition presence. “We have to accept what Allah gave us and stop hatred to among ourselves which cannot take us anywhere,” Jatta said.
He revealed reasons why he quitted from the opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) to join the APRC, saying because it is one of the most corrupt parties in the country. “I joined the APRC party in 2010, when I realised that there is corruption within the UDP administration.”
He refuted allegations that President Jammeh insulted the Mandikas, saying the president loves every Gambian because if he hated the Mandinkas, he would have not employed 60% of them in his government.
Pierre Minteh, an APRC former National Youth Mobilizer called on Gambian to be wise and give their backs to the oppositions as they are only interested in developing themselves and their children.
According him, before the July 22nd revolution opportunities like international scholarships were preserved for children and relatives of those in the government, while children from poor backgrounds struggled for themselves.
He said thanks to President Jammeh, even sons of fishermen and farmers are now given scholarship, saying 90% of students at the University of The Gambia are paid by the Government. “This is a clear manifestation that President Jammeh has a big commitment to transform the country into a city state and ensure fair treatment for all Gambian.”
Basiru Gassama, APRC national youth adviser, underscored that his loyalty and support to President Jammeh is unshakable and that they will never give their back on him and his Government, assuring him a 100% victory in December polls.
Oumie Barry, the Bakau women mobilizer, said nothing would warrant them to oppose President Jammeh because they have seen what he did for the country and the people.
