The APRC executive committee of Banjul South on Friday held a ward meeting in Jollof Town in the Banjul South Constituency. The meeting aimed at sensitising the supporters of the party on the upcoming campaign and the presidential election.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Baboucarr Nyang, the National Assembly Member of the constituency, said his people are behind the President. “Under the leadership of President Jammeh, many developments have been made; therefore, come December 1 we will vote for him massively,” he said.
Hon. Nynag further stated that President Jammeh’s records have proven and given him the mandate to be elected for another five years. “Banjul is a no-go area for the opposition especially for Banjul South and we will give him more in the upcoming election than we gave him in 2011 ,” he added.
Ebrima Monti Nyang of Half-Die Ward said the meeting will avail them the opportunity to prepare themselves for the December 1 presidential election. “We are preparing for the campaign and the election, but already we know that President Jammeh is going to win.”
Njaga Jammeh, councillor of Jollof Town Ward said the meeting availed them the opportunity to mobilise APRC supporters to discuss important issues regarding the forthcoming election, and some of the issues surrounding it. “We want them to vote for President Jammeh, our party leader.”
Aji Fatou Bah, women mobiliser of Banjul South, said the people of the city should come out on December 1 and re-elect President Jammeh. “The Gambian leader has done a lot for the country; it is time for us to reciprocate by giving him another mandate.”
