Banjulians Remain Committed to Peace -Banjul Mayor Tells CDS Bargie



The Lord Mayor of Banjul City Council (BCC) has told the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Ousman Bargie and other service chiefs that the people of Banjul will always be committed to the promotion of peace in the country.

Mayor Abdoulie Bah was speaking recently as he welcomed in his council, CDS Bargie and other service chiefs. He had a brief closed-door discussion with the security forces, before an open general meeting at the Banjul City Council Chambers.

The Banjul Mayor expressed gratitude to the leadership of the country for the support to Banjulians for the past 22 years.

He thanked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Yankuba Sonko, for the reduction in crime rate in the city and the entire country in general.

He called on the people of the country to jealously safeguard the peace in the country for the benefit of our children.

Mayor Bah further commended all security forces in the country for maintaining peace and security, adding that the people of Banjul are grateful for the visit by CDS Bargie and delegation.

He informed CDS Bargie that Banjulians are appreciative of His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh Babili Mansa’s regime for the rapid development registered in the city from 1994 to date.

According to him, Banjul is a small city blessed with abundant prayers from their forefathers, pointing out that anybody who wants to destabilise the city will not succeed.

Mayor Bah promised CDS Bargie and delegation that come 1st December 2016 presidential election, Banjulians will massively vote for President Jammeh for more development initiatives.
