Boy, 2, Needs Help to Undergo Overseas Treatment




One Ebrima Jobe, a two-year old and a resident of Tallinding in the Kanifing Municipality is in dire need of support to undergo overseas treatment.

According to Mariyam Sarr, the mother of the two-year, Ebrima Jobe’s health conditions always give her sleepless nights, as she visited so many places, but to no avail. “We did all we can to cure him, but it seems that his condition is getting worst by the day,” she stated.

According to his medical report from the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), Ebrima Jobe was presented at the emergency department seven months ago with a month history of caustic soda ingestion with subsequent inability to swallow solid food and eventually liquid as well.

“The patient also developed severe acute malnutrition as a result of his inability to swallow food.  A feeding gastrostomy was done for him six months ago and he is currently being fed through a feeding gastrostomy tube and he is still malnourished,” the report further stated.

The report added that the abdomen has a feeding tube, upper middle scar, soft, non-tender, no palpable organongally, normal breathing pattern, chest is clinically clear, first and second heart sound heard, no murmur, CNS; conclude alert and oriented.
