Wulinkamma FC will take on Any LJ FC in the pending final of the 2016 Brufut Nawettan following their respective wins over Babolong and Rangers FC in the knockout semifinal games that were played at the Brufut Lower Basic football field over the weekend.
Any LJ FC beat Babolong FC cy 2-1 in the first semifinal encounter to make it through to the final while Wulinkamma defeated Rangers FC by 5-4 in a post-match penalty shootout following a goalless stalemate in the regulation period.
Both teams are preparing for their final as both of the target to extend their success in the coastal community’s Nawettan. Any LJ FC has being highly predicted by sport loving fans to lead the final following their wonderful displays but will Wulinkamma prove doubters wrong during the knockout final?
Speaking to Observer Sports shortly after their semi-final win against Babolong, the head coach of Wulinkamma FC, Babucarr Jatta expressed happiness for making it through to the knockout final, noting that Babolong FC defeated them in the last year’s knockout final, saying their victory over them was a revenge.
James Sambou, head coach of Rangers FC said he was disappointed after losing the semifinal to a team they defeated in last year’s final, while commending the good performance of his players despite the lose.
