A three-day coaching clinic course organised by the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) in collaboration with West Coast Region Football Coaches’ Association, (WCRFCA), just concluded at the Brikama Box-Bar Mini-Stadium.
The training that gathered 29 coaches from the Brikama Nawettan aimed to build their capacities on team building and management, tactical awareness, and goalkeeping amongst others.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Tapha Manneh a trainer who doubles as the president of the WCRFCA, emphasised the importance of the training to the Nawettan coaches in the country especially to the Brikama Nawettan.
The Gamtel gaffer who is the 2015 league winner and four times FA cup champion, advised the participants to work hard during their training to make it easy for them whiles urging them to make the best use of the training.
Lamin LS Sambou former Gambia U-17 head coach, expressed dissatisfaction with the number of participants that benefitted from the training.
“We are aging so they [coaches] should come out so that we can transfer the little knowledge to them.”
Lamin A Jammeh Assistant Secretary General of Brikama Sports Committee, who spoke on behalf of their committee thanked the WCRFCA for partnering to build the capacity of the Brikama Nawettan coaches.
Jerreh Manneh, a coach who spoke on behalf of the trainees thanked the Brikama Sports and WCRFCA for providing such training to them while promising that the knowledge gained will be utilized.
