Today is exactly a week to the date when Gambians would decide in the December 1 presidential elections and it is therefore, important for every qualified Gambian to be part of this process.
In one of our lead stories today, we reported that Diaspora Gambians have arrived to take part in the election process we would like to commend them for their stance towards national development. Without wasting much time, this patriotic Gambians have already hit the campaign trail as they joined their candidate of choice, the incumbent, in touring the length and breadth of the country, which culminated with a rock star welcome for the President as he entered the Greater Banjul Area yesterday.
We would also like to commend this Gambians in both the United Kingdom and the United States of America for seeing the truth and light despite the negative media campaign that aims to smear the image of our great revolutionary President and trusted members of his administration. They have not only failed woefully in those attempts, they have lost all their credibility in the eyes of the Gambian people.
But as the President maintained, he is not on a countrywide tour to canvass votes, and he needs not to because the records are there for all to see. This country has seen remarkable development in every sector in the 22 years of his leadership so Gambians are no fools to be brainwashed by anyone.
It is also gratifying that the President announced this week that he will soon eradicate the threat of hunger and poverty in the country, but as we put in our yesterday’s editorial, that is hardly a surprise because the statistics are there to back it up.
The time is near and Gambians have already spoken. You do not want to be left behind so join the bandwagon before it is too late.
