The regional executive committee of the ruling APRC for the Central River Region recently organised series of stakeholder meetings in Chamen, Buduck, Sami Pachonki, Kunting and Jarumeh in the districts of Nianija and Sami, CRR north.
Addressing party militants, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hon. Benjamin Roberts implored them to put aside their individual differences and unite as one in the interest of the party.
He further highlighted the numerous development projects achieved in the Jammeh administration in the last 22 years. He said it is important for those gains to be consolidated.
The regional governor, Alhaji Omar Khan spoke extensively on the meeting, saying it would help to erase their political differences. He advised them not to allow some disgruntled elements to divide them, noting that together they are strong.
Governor Khan further pointed out that President Jammeh has the interest of Gambians at heart and urged them to cement their support for him.
The Deputy Governor of the region, Alhaji Malang Saibo Camara and the National Assembly Member for Upper Saloum, Hon. Sainey Mbye, both acknowledged that the July 22 Revolution has brought about many development projects for Gambian people.
“I urge all of you not to listen to the opposition because all what they are saying are all verbose and they cannot bring any development in the country,’’ Hon. Mbye said.
One Alhaji Omar Mambureh and Alhaji Baboucarr Jobe both implored on the people of these constituencies to rally behind President Jammeh and the APRC party, noting that President Jammeh has a good heart for the country.
