D7,000 Bail for Alleged Animal Killer

Magistrate Faal of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court last week granted bail to one Muhammed Ceesay in the sum of D7,000 in a case he is alleged of killing an animal, with the intention of stealing it.

Magistrate Faal ruled that Ceesay’s bail bond would include his provision of a Gambian surety who must tender his or her national identity card with an affidavit of means.

Muhammed Ceesay is said to have killed one she-goat costing D5,000 on or about 9th August 2016 at Brikama Kabafita. The goat is said to be the property of one Binta Badjie.

Police Prosecutor Sub-Inspector Bojang applied for a short adjournment of the case to enable the prosecution to give facts of the case and pictures that he intended to tender as evidence.

His application was granted by the presiding magistrate who adjourned the matter to 5th September 2016 for prosecution to give their facts.
