Gambian international, Edrissa Sonko, has expressed delight at bagging a brace for his English First Division club, Walsall, and revealed to Observer Sports that his confidence has received a timely boost - thanks to the two goal haul.

The wizard winger admitted he had been struggling lately, but claim his inspirational form in Saturday's draw against Swindon Town was good for his confidence.

"It was definitely a boost for me because I had been struggling a little lately. I score twice and it is good for my confidence," commented the former Real de Banjul forward.

"In the last few games I had not been that much confidence but I tried to work things out and I think all will be alright, he said.

"I hope to push on from here. I want to prove that Walsall were right to sign me".

Sonko's inspirational performance in the weekend was much to the delight of the his manager, Richard Money, who hailed the player for his heroic efforts in regaining his top form.

"Sonko's performance was magnificent. He is starting to find his form again. And I want to see him get into position where he can score and assist", Money was quoted said.
