Magistrate Elizabeth Don of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court yesterday adjourned the single count charge of false pretence against one Pa Momodou KB Faal for the cross-examination of the third prosecution witness.
Pa Momodou KB Faal was charged with obtaining money by false pretence contrary to section 288 of the Criminal Code, Cap 10 vol. III laws of The Gambia.
Faal is said to have obtained seventy-five thousand Dalasis (75,000) from one Yankuba Conteh in the month of September 2015 at Leman Street in Banjul with intent to defraud, and on the pretext that he would provide him an American visa knowing it to be false.
The case was set for cross-examination of the third prosecution witness but police prosecutor A Jobe applied for an adjournment because the witness could not be reached on phone to come to court.
The accused has been granted a D25,000 bail with two Gambian sureties. He was ordered by the court to deposit all his travel documents because he has another pending case with the same charge before the same court.
The case is adjourned to 27th September for cross-examination.
