Foreign Exchange Bureau Proprietor’s Case Stalls

Principal Magistrate Omar Cham of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court yesterday adjourned the one count criminal charge trial of Sulayman Hydara, the proprietor of Hydara Foreign Exchange Bureau.

The case was set for hearing but could not proceed after the court was informed that Inspector Saja Sanyang, the prosecutor handling the case was sick.

It is alleged that sometime in the month of April, 2016 in Banjul, Hydara’s agent, one Ansumana Tunkara in Dubai received an amount of one hundred thousand US Dollars from one Suwaibou Gumaneh for onward transmission to one Lagami Touray, the beneficiary, which he failed to deliver.

The presiding magistrate adjourned the case to 3rd October, 2016 at midday.
