Africa Muslim Agency recently laid the foundation stone for the construction of a grand mosque in Pakau Njogu, in Upper Nuimi, North Bank Region.
Alh. Sheriff Jallow of Kerr Mama, who laid the foundation stone on behalf of the Khalipha General of Medina Serigne Mass, believes that the construction of the mosque would strengthen the Islamic faith in the community.
He called on Muslims to be God fearing and to uphold the teachings of Islam.
Speaking to journalists, Alagie Njie Bah, a representative of Africa Muslim Agency, indicated that the construction of the mosque would provide opportunity for worshippers to hold congregational prayers and promote the teaching of Islam.
He disclosed that the construction is expected to last 4 months and thus called on the contractor to deliver quality work.
Bah underscored the Agency’s commitment in the propagation of Islam.
Mam Cherno Jallow of Upper Nuimi also said that the mosque construction would complement Government’s efforts in strengthening Islam in the country and thus called on the people of Pakau Njogu to take care of the mosque.
Modou Ida Bah, the alkalo; and Imam Alh.Njogu Anta Bah, both thanked the sponsors, Africa Muslim Agency for their foresight.
