The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Saturday held a day-long media orientation on their four year strategic plan, GFF league and competition structure as well as finance and budgeting amongst others.
The orientation that gathered over 20 journalists from both the print and electronic media was held at Football House in Kanifing. This orientation is aimed to cement the partnership between the Gambia Football Federation and media towards the development of football in the Gambia.
Speaking before the journalists, Lamin Kaba Bajo, president of GFF said that as they have recognised the importance of their partnership with the media, making it necessary to organise such a programme in which they can interact with the media towards the development of football in the Gambia.
He hailed their partnership with the media through the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) for always working towards the development of football, noting that this seminar will help to continue their partnership with the media for the country’s football development.
Bakery Jammeh, GFF executive member while making a presention on the GFF’s four-year strategic plan said the Gambia Football Federation executive committee is made up of experience, competent and credible football administrators with the strategic goals to develop and promote healthy football community in the Gambia as well as to unite, stabilise and sustain an upward trend in football development throughout the country.
He added that the executive committee commits itself to the strict adherence of the FIFA approved constitution and management of the Federation which is in line with FIFA, CAF and the National Sports Council requirements.
Other speakers and resource persons include; Ebou Faye, GFF second vice president, Kemo Ceesay GFF finance director and Ebrima Manneh, technical director. All participants were awarded certificates at the end of the seminar
