The University of The Gambia Students’ Union (UTGSU) has been the latest beneficiary of The Gambia Ports Authority’s unrivalled support towards the country’s higher education needs.
The institution’s latest intervention came in the form of a donation of a cheque amounting to hundred thousand dalasis (100, 000) earmarked to improve the sanitary conditions in the various schools and faculty at the university.
The student government is most humbled and grateful for what they call ‘timely support’ and thus called on other institutions and organisations to follow suit.
The Ports has over the years committed itself towards the development and consolidation of the country’s human capital. A clear testimony of this is the Operation Promote Excellence in the Sciences (OPES) initiative which has already created huge impact on the lives of many under privileged young people.
The UTG Students’ Union President Ansumana B. Bojang, thanked the GPA for the support. “The efforts of GPA are recorded in history and posterity shall judge you right. The entire university community is thankful,”he stated.
