The action-oriented Gambian leader and founder of the glorious 22nd July Revolution has promised to put a tar road at the Sankandi-Karantaba road in Kiang West whether they vote for him or not, in fulfillment of his promise to the locals.
His Excellency Sheikh Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya AJJ Jammeh Babili Mansa made this remark on Monday in a mass rally in Kiang Keneba as part of his nationwide tour.
President Jammeh commended Kiang West for according him a befitting welcome that they have shown since 1994.
According to the Gambian leader, he will develop the country without any form of discrimination. “I swear I will not betray Kiang and Gambians. Whether you vote for me or not, I will work for all for the sake of Allah,” he told the meeting, adding that if he was to look at people who supported him then Baddibu would not have been the first area to enjoy from his government’s developments.
“I am not a leader that fools people because fooling is a form of lying and Allah does not like telling lies,” the President told Kiangkas and promised to fulfill his promises to Kiang West by the grace of Allah.
For the past 22 years, President Jammeh said Gambians have never been affected by any financial and food crises that had hit the world. “Gambia is not a poor country and what we have even the West do not have it.”
He used the meeting to remind Gambians of the need to be God-fearing and return to Allah. “Let us purify our hearts and seek forgiveness from Allah. Let us stop infighting and betrayals,” he advised.
Speaking further, President Jammeh told the people of Kiang that his presidency is in the hands of the Almighty Allah, citing that when he was coming to power at the age of 29 years no one voted for him. “My election victory is in the hands of Allah.”
