A two-week International Youth Summer Camp organised by the Peace Ambassadors The Gambia recently came to an end at the Friendship Hostel in Bakau.
The event, which was designed to expose youths to leadership and other gainful skills, attracted youths from both within and outside the country; notably Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Germany.
This year’s event, being the 10th edition according to organisers, is the best-ever youth camp organised by the Peace Ambassadors.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Babucarr Sambou, the president of Peace Ambassadors The Gambia, expressed delight for the 2016 youth camp, adding that during the two-week event participants were trained as peace advocates.
He informed the gathering that participants were also exposed to entrepreneurship skills, peace building among others.
“So the knowledge given should not go in vain as we expect them to go out there and spread the information to other young people who were not privileged to attend the camp”.
Sambou went on to thank all their international delegates from Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Germany.
