Magistrates Gives 3-Month Suspended Sentence to Attempted Felon

Magistrate Isatou Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court has handed a 3-month suspended sentence on a man who was being tried before him with intention to commit a felony.

Magistrate Jammeh warn Amadou Sowe that should he misbehave within the three months period, he would serve a month imprisonment.

Jallow is said to have unlawfully jumped into one Momodou Jallow’s compound on or about 6th October 2016 at Sinchu Alagie with intent to commit a felony.

The police prosecuting officer Sergeant 2202 Federa said the accused person jumped into the compound and within 15 minutes one Abdoulie Ceesay confronted him and reported the matter to old Yundum police station. He said at the police station, the accused person was cautioned and charged with the offence.

Sowe had however begged the court to forgive him, promising he would never repeat the offence again.
