Ally Kore, a resident of Talinding and a police officer last Wednesday testified as the third prosecution witness in an assault trial involving one Abdoulie Kandeh before Magistrate Isatou Janneh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
The witness in his testimony told the court that while he was on duty sometime in September 2016, the victim came to the police station and lodge a complaint there that he was beaten by the accused. He said at that time (the victim’s) nose was bleeding. He said the accused was brought and a statement was obtained from him.
He said that the victim was escorted to Banjulinding health centre where he was admittedand discharged the following day and with a medical report issued to him.
The police prosecutor Corporal 3999 Secka applied to tender the medical report in evidence as exhibit which was granted by the magistrate and marked as exhibit A.
While responding to questions from the accused person during cross-examination, the witness said they have evidence that the accused person assaulted the victim.
The matter is adjourned to 16th November 2016.
