Police Officer Testifies in Dangerous Driving Trial

Sergeant 4749 Mamadi Sanneh a resident of Banjullinding and police officer on Tuesday testified as the second Prosecution Witness (PW2) in the ongoing dangerous driving trial against one Abdoulie Sowe before Magistrate Isatou Janneh of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

PW2 in his testimony told the court that on the 20th July 2016, while he was on duty at the check point in Abuko, he received a phone call informing him about an accident involving 3 vehicles at a petrol station in Lamin village.

Upon arrival at the scene he found out that both the vehicle were in position so he took sketch plan of the scene and called the testing officer who came and tested the cars, adding that after testing both cars and the drivers were taken to the police station were their statements were taken and a warning letter was given to them.

According to him when he was ready with his work, he handed over all the documents to his chief inspector. At that juncture the police prosecutor Sub-Inspector Conteh applied to tender the sketch plan as an evidence which was granted by the magistrate and it was admitted and marked as exhibit A.

While responding to a question posed to him by the accused person under cross- examination, PW2 told the court that the accident was caused by the accused person.
