The Banjul Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Kebba Baldeh on Wednesday entertained the cross examination of one Ebrima Camara who is defending a charge of possession of prohibited drug by the prosecutor NCA1 M B Jallow of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG).
While giving evidence under cross examination the accused told the court that he was arrested by two officers and further said that he was alone when the arresting officers came. He continued by denying the prosecution’s claim that he threw the bag and ran away and said he did not throw the black plastic bag containing the cannabis and he never ran away.
Ebrima Camara is alleged to have on or about the 2nd of October 2014 at Half Die in Banjul had in his possession cannabis sativa a prohibited drug and thereby committed an offence.
The case was adjourned to 7th November 2016 for judgment.
