Momodou Foday Jabbi, a complainant residing at Nema Kunku yesterday testified before Magistrate Thomas of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court as the first prosecution witness in a felony trial involving Baba Sowe, Ebrima Ceesay and Yuspha Jarra.
The accused persons are said to have conspired amongst themselves to commit a felony therein to wit stealing on 1st September 2016, at Nema Kunku, Kombo North.
They are also alleged to have stolen a goat valued at D9, 000 from Momodou Foday Jabbi at Nema Kunku, Kombo North on the same day.
In his testimony, Jabbi revealed that on 1st September 2016, he woke up early in the morning at around 4am while it was heavily raining to check his goats. He said he found one of his kid goats crying outside but could not find the rest of the goats.
He said he later saw a taxi whose driver asked him for a help to push the car. He said he refused to help him but asked him to open his car boot which, he said the driver complied to. He said when the car boot was open, he found some pieces of goat fieces there.
Jabbie said he took the taxi driver to his house and kept him there until morning and escorted him to the police station. He said the police conducted an investigation leading to the arrest of the accused persons.
He said he (Jabbi) and the police officers escorted the first accused person (Baba Sowe) to show them where he sold the goat but they found that the goats were already slaughtered.
