The Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) yesterday resumed its ongoing Nawettan campaign following a break for the Tobaski feast. While the round of 16 takes centre stage, the knockout competition is put on a hold.
On Sunday in the league round of 16 matches before going into the break, Medina FC exyended its unbeaten run after eliminating the Bundung-based Shop Bi 1-0 in the early kickoff, while Bradford FC surprisingly defeated the Baboucarr Jallow (B.J Academy) 5-4 on a post-match penalty following a 1-1 draw in the regulation.
On Friday, Abuko United also defeated Manchester United 2-1 in regulation time. The defeat means the Wellingara-based side Manchester United has been eliminated in the entire Serrekunda East Nawettan.
In the late encounter on Friday, Leeds United also packed their belongings out of the Nawettan following a 1-0 defeat to Milan FC of Tallinding.
The Thursday encounter saw Future Stars FC eliminated Zurich FC out of the knockout competition after a 4-3 post-match penalty shootout win following a goalless stalemate st the end of regulation time, while in the late game Falcons FC also defeated Latrikunda United 5-4 on a post-match penalty shootout following a goalless stalemate in regulation time.
