Sky Power Football Club is no doubt one of the best and oldest football teams in Brikama. The team, which has always been blessed with skillful and talented players, has won series of trophies in the town.
It was founded in 1991 by young people from various streets of Brikama Sateba and was given the name Sky Power by one Assan Kargbo (Moreh).
The side started from junior category in 1991 and later qualified to the senior level in 1996, after registering series of successes. Sky won its first trophy against Nema Youths in 1997 and again in 2000 when it won another trophy.
Sainey Bojang, who is described as one of the greatest coaches of the team, won four trophies for the side. The team also played division 2 league in the late 90s.
Sky Power played series of finals and lose just a few. The team is probably stronger than before and there is no sign of stopping them to add more victories on their records. Being a side with good history, Sky is among the few popular teams in Brikama that have made outsiders to love and support football in the town.
The team produced players like Lamin J Sanneh (Langboy Badi Badi), Buba Iso Sanneh, Sanjally Sarr, Omar Bojang (Taka), Momodou Figo Jallow, Tijan Mboob (T) and many others that went on to represent The Gambia at national team level.
