Special Movie Award Set to Celebrate Maiden Edition

Special Movie Award (SMA) is bracing up to celebrate its maiden edition on 30th September, 2016 at Coco Ocean. This is set to be followed by its premiering of a movie called ‘Ebu in Sierra Leone’ on 1st October 2016, to be held at the Joint Officers’ Mess.

The events are expected to be attended by a host of resident and international film markers.

Special Movie Award is an event to celebrate creative works of films made in the Gambia, to promote qualitative film contents, encourage the art of film making in the Gambia and recognise key players in the industry and support film productions.

The SMA is expected to be a night of glitz, glamour and paparazzi. “It is a night of unforgettable experience for movie stars to celebrate creative titles, diverse languages, beautiful colors, melodious sounds, graphical effects, styles and actions. The night will be a win-win situation as film makers will be submitting all genres and styles of movies made in the Gambia to be screened by a team of international and experienced jury,” organisers say.

The special guests of honour for these events are Mr. Collins, a Sierra Leone British move star; Desmond .B. Finney and Ken-Steven Anuka, top Nollywood Director.
