Magistrate Kebba Baldeh of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court yesterday granted 50,000 Dalasi bail to one Saikou Camara, who is under trial before him on a charge of drug possession.
The presiding magistrate ordered Camara to provide two Gambian sureties with each of them to swear to an affidavit and to deposit their national identification cards.
Camara is said to have been found in possession of 8g of Cannabis Resin, a prohibited drug, on or about 14th August 2016 at Dobson Street in Banjul. He denied responsibility of both charges.
The police prosecuting officer then applied for the matter to be adjourned for the testimony of the first prosecution witness.
His application was granted by presiding magistrate, who adjourned the matter to Wednesday, 20th October.
