Taxi Driver Testifies in  Rash Driving Case

Muhammed Tambedou, a tourist taxi driver residing at Kerr Serign last week testified as the first prosecution witness in one count charge of rash and negligent driving against Mustapha Jadama before Magistrate Momodou SM Jallow of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

Jadama is charged with rash and negligent driving which led to the death of one Shakti Singh of Fajara, along the Senegambia highway.

In his testimony, the witness said he was driving from Senegambia towards Kerr Serign on 6th August this year and signalled to cross to the Kerr Serign road while the accused was driving towards Senegambia end.

According to him, at that time the victim, Shakti Singh, was driving a motto bike on the left side of the accused person’s car when the accused person took a wrong turn and severely hit the victim and he (victim) fell under his (witness) car leading to the death of Shakti Singh.

He claimed the accident had caused damages on his car and said the scene was visited by the Brusubi police.

The case is adjourned to 9th November for continuation.
