The semi final of Rising Stars Africa, a reality TV show, will be held tomorrow, Saturday, 5th November at Penchi-Mi Paradise Suits Hotel. The show is geared towards discovering and promoting armature local talents or acts of any type, by providing a platform for contestants to showcase their talents.
The brain behind the show, Mariam Bangura, Chief Executive Officer of Bangz Entertainment, in an interview with What’s On revealed that the semi final will be followed by a final which would be held on the 12th November.
She said at the semi final stage twenty contestants will perform and ten will be dropped, while the remaining ten will proceed to the final.
Bangura called on people to come and support their artistes, adding that the show has been a successful journey and cost her D 1.5 million.
“I hope people will believe in the product and be part of the sponsors next year because it is something I want to do yearly.”
She said five hundered contestants were auditioned and went through different stages of eliminations.
“Though the process was hectic as I did mentorship for the singers and we also have guide for the dancers.” She said contestants lined up for tomorrow’s event will include singers, dancers and those doing poetry and people can vote for their favorite contestants via Gamcel, Qcell and Comium.
