Transparency, Accountability Promote Trust and Assurance….KEYCDA Board Chair

The Board Chairperson of the Kombo East Youth and Children Development Alliance (KEYCDA), has emphasised that in order for any organisation to move forward, there must be transparency and accountability at all times.

Omar Bah was speaking recently at the KEYCDA office at Faraba Sutu Village, during its 4th meeting on the theme: ‘Promoting accountability and transparency among the executives of the various sub-organisations within the organisation”.

‘’KEYCDA is a district youth and children organisation vested with the responsibility to coordinate and supervise the affairs of the youth and children within the Kombo East District,’’ he said.

The organisation he went on, was established in 2005 by young and energetic youth and is operating under a board with five other sub-organs namely; ‘District Youth Committee, Children’s Committee, Sports Committee, District Girls and Women Assembly and the KEYCDA Cooperative Credit Union’.

Bah indicated that in every three months all the sub-organs report their activities and plan of activities for the following three months during a concurrent meeting; as these reports are scrutinise by the members of the said alliance in a constructive way so as to pave a way forward for the alliance.

The Assistant Programme Officer of KEYCDA, Dawda Bah underscored the importance of the gathering, saying it would no doubt provide a perfect platform and opportunity for young people to be able to familiarise themselves with the activities of the sub-organs.

“It is also a forum where executives of the various sub-organs are held accountable and taken to task by the general members,’’ he said.

Bah thus appealed to people to help the organisation in attaining its desire objective thereby building the capacity and skills of youth to succeed in life.

Lamin K Saidy and Kaddy Sanyang, both members of the organisation, lauded the members for coming together to discuss issues that are vital to their respective communities.
