The National Youth Mobiliser of the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) has asserted that the youths of the country are fully behind President Jammeh and the party. He said they are ready to massively vote for the APRC candidate in the upcoming Presidential Elections because of the remarkable development strides registered by the Government.
Hon. Babou Gaye Sonko, a nominated National Assembly member, was speaking on Saturday at the APRC Political Bureau in Kanifing during the inauguration of the various sub-committees ahead of the party’s Youth Rally to be held in the Upper River Region town of Basse. The convergence, anticipated to be the biggest youth gathering in the country, is expected to bring together more than 50,000 Gambian youths.
The meeting would also remind the young people on the need for them to consolidate their loyalty towards intensifying their support of the party in the upcoming elections.
“I’m with the strong conviction that the young people as the largest population in the country with almost 63% of the population have a big role to play in the development of the country and the APRC in general,” Babou Gaye Sonko opined.
“I will also urge all those who are selected in the various committees to demonstrate the best of their ability so that together we can make the day a successful one.”
The KMC Youth Mobiliser, Lamin Camara told the youths that they should be very grateful to Allah (SWT) for giving them a leader like President Jammeh; therefore, urging the people to rally behind the President and support him in his development agendas.
He said The Gambia today and before is quite different, noting that there is development everywhere. ‘’The youths of KMC should be grateful to President Jammeh for the numerous opportunities amongst them the University of The Gambia and others,“ he affirmed.
He equally expressed profound gratitude and thanks to the Gambian leader for the numerous developments brought to the youths, saying the youths of KMC are truly APRC.
Sheikh Omar Sanneh, an APRC Youth Militant, stated that people can truly distinguish between those who can bring development and those who want retrogress. He highlighted the many transformations in the lives of our people, noting that schools, hospitals, roads, and electricity are all available now.
Aji Yama Njie, Women Mobiliser of the APRC informed that women are fully behind the President and at all times, noting that Professor Jammeh has empowered them.
According to her, victory for the APRC in the upcoming elections is unquestionable because they don’t see any opposition that is a threat to them. She therefore, asked the party to sleep and think how to celebrate because the President has already won In Shaa allah.
