The sedition case involving Ebrima Keita, Musa Fofana and Alasana Jallow Tuesday proceeded before Magistrate Momodou S M Jallow of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court with cross-examination of the first prosecution witness, Mbaye Bojang.
During the cross-examination by the accused persons’ defence counsel, lawyer Abdoulie Fatty, Mr Bojang said he was not present when the cautionary and voluntary statements were obtained from the accused persons and does not know under what circumstance or condition the statements were taken. The case is adjourned to 24th August.
The accused persons are charged for uttering a statement on 11th May 2016 in Sukuta that The Gambia is on a boiling point and that all opposition sympathisers should join and make a big demonstration so that the security would not be able to contain the public.
