The APRC chapter in France on Tuesday reached out to the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) by donating items.
The donated items, which included second-hand clothes, blankets, shoes, bandages and other medical equipment were received by Mayor Yankuba Colley, on behalf of the Council at the KMC premises.
On receiving the items, Mayor Colley described the move as a step in the right direction, hailing the donors for being conscious of the people they left back home.
While thanking them for their efforts, the Mayor assured them that the medical items would be given to the Serrekunda General Hospital in Kanifing for better use.
Malaim Beyai, the President of the APRC chapter in France, indicated that as citizens, they realised that it’s their duty to do something for their country instead of asking from your country to do something for you.
“What we all should know is that we should think of what to give back to our country rather than what the country can do for us,” he said.
Isatou Bojang, a member of the chapter, equally echoed similar sentiments, while hailing President Jammeh for his unprecedented achievements. She added that their aim is to complement government’s efforts in nation building.
