As the first leg of the Pape Diouf-Bai Babu tour kicked off in Atlanta, United States of America, the man they call “Damayi” could not have wished for a better concert.
In their droves, the Gambian community in various parts of the States, according to our sources, trooped to the show in solidarity with their mesmeric countryman.
Repeating what he did back in The Gambia, Bai Babu called for a “Maalaw” contest as fans could not help but chant his name time and again.
Each verse started by the hit maker was met with a rousing uproar by the fans who happily ended up completing the song. In truth, it was a great chorus by Pape Diouf but the additional rap provided by The Gambian kid was in itself an irresistible flavour.
After the gig Mr. Damayi posted for numerous photos with fans, mostly Gambians. No surprises at all.
