The Basse Health Centre was on Monday upgraded into a District Hospital. The official inauguration was presided over by the Basic Education Minister Dr. Fatou Lamin Faye.

BASE HEALTH 2Dr. Faye in her inaugural speech said the upgraded facility would reduce the burden on the community of Basse and the surrounding by obviating the need to travel long distances to gain access to tertiary healthcare services including Emergency Obstetric Care, access to high diagnostic service facilities such as X-ray, 24 hours accident and emergency, amongst others.
