The Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Mben Faal on Tuesday 20th September 2016 granted bail to one Zaidi Syed Quaised Hussain in the sum of D125,000 with two Gambian sureties.
The court also ordered for the accused person to deposit all his travel documents with the court registrar pending the determination of the case and this came after the police prosecutor Chief Inspector Touray expressed none oppose on the bail of the accused person.
The prosecution alleged in the particulars of offence that the accused person on or about the 26th August 2016 at Sinchu Alagie village in the kombo north district, with intend to defraud obtained cash amounting to D117, 000 (One Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Dalasis) from 17 people with the pretext that he will travel with them to Paskistan and obtain a work permit for them, a representation he knew to be false.
He is alleged to have obtained the money from one AlagieToboraChorr, KebbaTouray, AlhamdouMutarrJallow, Musa k Jallow, ModouJah, Dawda Bah, Amadou Ceesay, Matarr Njie, Modou Mballow, Momodou Colley, Ousman Camara, Kebba Secka, Omar Chune, Saikou Jobe, Yaya Bah, Mamud Kebbeh and Lamin Camara an allegation he denied by pleading not guilty after the charge was read to him.
The prosecution later applied for an adjournment to enable him to call his witness after which the case was adjourned to 4 of September 2016.
